Batman: The Brave and the Bold is back with the popular anthology series telling exciting new stories featuring Batman, Superman, and more DC Comics heroes and villains. The first issue brings together extremely talented creative teams, including Tom King and Mitch Gerads, Christopher Cantwell and Javier Rodriguez, and Dan Mora, who are bringing their own style to the comic.

Batman: The Winning Card from Tom King, Mitch Gerads, and Clayton Cowles tells a stylish new story recounting the first meeting between Batman and the Joker. For fans of Rodriguez’s work on Defenders and Daredevil, you’ll want to check out his interpretation of the Man of Steel. Director Bones’ newest StormWatch team as the Wildstorm characters try to stop some of the deadliest weapons in the DC Universe from falling into the wrong hands.

Lastly, Dan Mora makes his writing debut with DC Comics in a story about a future version of Batman who emerges to take on the Joker. However, the Clown Prince of Crime isn’t his usual self but possesses a massive, cybernetic body. The story is only a single issue long, and unlike the other comics in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, it won’t run for multiple installments. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth checking out the talented artists' take on Batman.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold #1 features several covers, including a main cover from Simone Di Meo featuring Batman being ejected from the Batmobile. Jim Cheung draws a variant featuring The Dark Knight striking a pose in front of his name. Frank Cho’s variant features the fan-favorite artist tackling Superman as he flies in front of the Daily Planet. Incentive ratios from Bryan Hitch (1:25) featuring the Stormwatch team and a Nathan Szerdy (1:50) cover starring Rose Wilson.
