Darth Vader Gets Marvel's Black, White & Red Treatment!

Darth Vader is getting Marvel’s Black, White, and Red treatment as the iconic Sith Lord will star in a brand-new anthology featuring several fan-favorite creators, including the return of former Star Wars scribe Jason Aaron back to the villain. Aaron, who penned Star Wars: Vader Down, continues to expand the story of the Jedi-turned-villain. Fans should be excited about the upcoming comic, as Aaron is responsible for one of the most badass Star Wars lines ever, "'All I am surrounded by is fear. And dead men.” The new story will allow him to pen something equally as cool, even if that would be a tall order.
Darth Vader - Black, White and Red #1 from Marvel Comics will feature a new story from Aaron that will be a four-part tale spanning the four issues of the miniseries. In an interview with Marvel.com, Aaron revealed he couldn’t wait to tackle Vader again and put him in a “perilous situation” for him to escape from. It appears Aaron and artist Leonard Kirk will team up for an appropriately bloody story. Aaron’s return isn’t the only reason to be excited, as beloved artist Peach Momoko (Demon Days) brings her trademark style to a unique series featuring Darth Vader. Lastly, current Thor writer Torunn Gronbekk and Klaus Janson will work together on an action-packed adventure featuring Darth Vader mowing through those who stand in his way. A handful of covers are available for Dark Vader - Black, White and Red #1. Alex Maleev draws the main cover featuring an unmasked Darth Vader, with Takashi Okazaki providing a rain-filled variant starring the titular villain. Mico Suayan draws Vader standing above his deadly fleet of tie fighters, Kaare Andrews draws a stylish painted variant, Gabrielle Dell’Otto returns to Star Wars with a fierce Vader variant, and Felipe Massafera illustrates a cover that would make an excellent poster. Tyler Kirkham will also have a black, white, and red Vader variant. All covers will be available as virgin variants.
