Dazzler #1 is coming from Marvel Comics.
The X-Men are stacked with iconic characters with amazing powers in the Marvel Universe, but one fan-favorite character got her start in the most unusual of the most ways. First appearing in The Uncanny X-Men #130 by Tom DeFalco and John Romita, Dazzler was created in collaboration with Casablanca Records and Marvel Comics. Despite initial plans to turn the disco queen into a real-life musical act, those plans eventually fizzled leading the character to just become a comic book hero alongside Marvel’s mutants. Throughout her storied history, Dazzler has led her own solo stories, teamed up with the X-Men, and met many heroes across Earth-616 and beyond. In a new miniseries spinning out of the From The Ashes Era, Jason Loo and Rafael Loureiro, Dazzler is about to hit the road alongside some familiar faces.
Dazzler #1 sees the titular hero go on a new world tour, as she has a crew of mutants. Joining the pop star is Domino, Multiple Man, and Strong Guy, whose incredible powers will come in handy when her tour becomes the target of a mysterious attack. The new story will feature original song lyrics from Dazzler’s notebook while showing off her incredible, eye-catching powers.
The debut issue of Dazzler’s new series features main cover art from Terry and Rachel Dodson, showing the hero on the stage. Elizabeth Torque’s Godzilla variant shows Dazzler taking on the mighty Kaiju. Kaare Andrews’ foil variant features the hero in her 90s costume. Marguerite Sauvage’s Window Shades variant shows the hero getting ready for a big performance. Yasmine Putri’s 1:25 incentive variant sees Dazzler on top of a sweet ride while in a silver bodysuit. Meanwhile, there will be variants from Ashley Witter and Derrick Chew (also available as a 1:100 incentive cover) that have yet to be revealed. Check out the main cover art below.
