DC is reprinting Swamp Things first solo title!
Swamp Thing's iconic first solo series adventure is getting a brand-new facsimile edition, giving readers the chance to own the classic story in its original format.
Swamp Thing #1: Facsimile Edition 2026 reprints the first issue of the Swamp Thing solo series by Len Wein, Bernie Wrightson, and Gaspar Saladino in its original format. The comic features scientist Alec Holland transforming into a monster after an explosion, as he reluctantly becomes the Swamp Thing!
Swamp Thing #1: Facsimile Edition 2026 features main cover art by Wrightson, also coming in a foil version. Meanwhile, a blank variant and an action figure variant by Alex Saviuk and Jason Geyer. Check out the main cover art and text solicit for the classic issue below.
While working on a restorative formula (that can make forests out of deserts) in the Louisiana swamps, scientist Alec Holland is killed by a bomb set off by Mr. E., who wants the formula. Shortly thereafter, a humanoid plant being rises from the swamp, created from the body of Holland, the chemicals in the formula, and the strange forces in the swamp.
