Doomsday Returns as Hell's Ruler in Action Comics Special!

DC Comics is bringing back the menacing and powerful villain Doomsday for an all-new special where the creature who killed Superman will return with an all-new role: the ruler of Hell.
In the Lazarus Planet event, Doomsday was merged with Martian Manhunter, creating one of the strongest and most unlikely merged characters in the DC Universe. The comic sets the story in motion for Doomsday to be the new ruler of Hell, where he’s assembling an army of demons and planning an attack on the heroes above his realm. However, Martian Manhunter and Supergirl will work together to prevent Doomsday from escaping in Action Comics Presents: Doomsday Special #1 by Dan Watters, Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, Adriano Lucas, and Dave Sharpe, putting their lives at risk to ensure he never escapes again. The issue will feature the debut of Doomhounds, the return of the powerful necromancer Bloodwynd, and tease the next big event and what’s coming next in the DC Universe.
The one-shot special features an impressive group of artists providing covers for the project. Bjron Barends draws the main cover showcasing Doomsday on his throne in Hell. Lucio Parrillo draws a variant for the cover, featuring Doomsday surrounded by fire while holding Superman’s cape. Puppeteer Lee shows off Doomsday’s size in a menacing image featuring the villain taking on Superman. Fan-favorite artist Clayton Crain draws Doomsday jumping into action in a 1:25 incentive variant. Meanwhile, Jon Bogdanove and Hi-Fi’s 1:50 incentive cover features Supergirl holding a guitar as she swings at Doomsday and his minions in Hell. In a great reference to the original Death of Superman storyline, Dan Jurgens returns, drawing a variant featuring a close-up look at Doomsday’s terrifying face.
