Dynamite & Disney Team Up for new Villains Titles!

Dynamite Comics is teaming up with Disney for a pair of new series starring two of the most iconic villains from the legendary animated universe. Dynamite will be launching both a new Disney Villains: Scar series and a Disney Villains: Maleficent, which will add further details to the fan-favorite foes. For both fans of the Dinsey Universe and comic books, the upcoming titles are the perfect marriage of storytelling as the new projects will explore characters readers have longed to learn more about.
Chuck Brown (Bitter Root) and artist Trevor Fraley will tackle a new story featuring The Lion King’s primary villain, Scar. The story follows the sinister lion as he tries to figure out how to unseat Mustafa as king following the arrival of his infant son. His machinations will lead him directly into conflict with Rafiki, as the Dynamite Comic series will feature untold adventures set in The Lion King Universe. Disney Villains: Scar #1 will feature a handful of covers, including a main one from Jahnoy Lindsay and variants from Karen Darboe, Erica Henderson, Junggeun Yeun, and Gene Ha.

Dynamite Comics’ other new Disney series will focus on Maleficent as the Queen of the Forbidden Mountain and her growing powers. The powerful villain becomes more disillusioned with the world - as the preview teases she will unleash some serious magical chaos upon those she sees as unworthy. Soo Lee (Charlie’s Angels) will tackle the new series for Dynamite. There will be several covers for Disney Villains: Maleficent #1, including ones by Lee, Jae Lee, Jennifer L. Meyer, Rebecca Puebla, and Erica D’Urso.
