Eight Billion Genies has concluded as the popular Charles Soule and Ryan Browne miniseries is ending with its eighth issue. The comic tells the story of everyone in the world getting one wish as eight billion genies grant them whatever they desire. The catch? Everyone gets their wish at the exact same time, sending the world into an uproar in the process. The series first showed off what happened in the first eight seconds of wishes, the first eight minutes, the first eight days, the first eight weeks, the first eight months, the first eight years, the first eight decades, and the final issue showcasing what happened during the first eight centuries.
The wildly popular Image Comics series was a major hit for both creators, with issue one getting five printings. Not only that, but issue two and three also received five printings, while issue four had four printings, and issue five and six have had multiple printings. Eight Billion Genies is one of the breakout hits of 2022, with Amazon Studios picking up the project to be a brand-new series for the streaming giant. While the series hasn’t officially announced a sequel, given its momentum, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one revealed soon.
Issue eight was the epic finale, which featured what happens with the wishes, the characters who made them, and the genies more than eight centuries after everyone got their chance to make a wish. No spoilers from us, but you’ll want to check out how things end. Check out the text solicit below.
MINISERIES FINALE The monumental ode to worldwide wish fulfillment completes its story with an exploration of THE FIRST EIGHT CENTURIES after the moment eight billion genies appeared on earth. We'll see how the last remaining wishes get used and discover the fates of the characters we met at the Lampwick Tavern all that time ago. What's our wish? That you'll see us through, all the way to the end.
Eight Billion Genies #8 (of 8) features a regular cover from Ryan Browne, a dinosaur-starring cover from Paolo Rivera for cover B, and a “Make A Wish” variant for Cover C from Rosemary Soule; all of which are available on CaptCan Comics right now.
