Din Djarin and Grogu are returning to the pages of Marvel Comics as a brand-new The Mandalorian comic book adaptation is coming soon!
In 2022, Marvel brought the uber-popular Star Wars adventure series to the page. The Mandalorian bounty hunter’s adventures from season one alongside his unlikely companion were adapted from live-action. Readers got to see the masked hero accept a bounty that would change his life forever. From meeting Grogu, learning how special the Force-connected child is, bonding with him, introducing Moff Gideon, and finding out the Darksaber was in his possession.
Season two ups the ante, as Djin Djarin and Grogu encountered the likes of Cobb Vanth, Boba Fett, and Fennec Shand, to the live-action introduction of fan-favorite Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels characters Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze, to the two hero’s meeting Luke Skywalker in the heartbreaking finale. The debut issue for season 2’s solicitation teases his first encounter with Vanth and his quest to discover more about his Mandalorian armor.
SEASON 2 OF THE HIT DISNEY+ SERIES IS HERE! GROGU AND DIN DJARIN return in CHAPTER 9: THE MARSHAL! The Mandalorian is drawn to the Outer Rim in search of others of his kind. Following rumors of another Mandalorian, he instead comes face-to-face with MARSHAL COBB VANTH wearing a very familiar armor! Mando and Grogu have stepped into a situation bigger than they realize! Following the tradition of season one, RODNEY BARNES & GEORGES JEANTY reunite to bring season two to life once more!
Marvel Comics is releasing several covers for the upcoming series. Mike Mayhew’s main cover features the titular Mandalorian entering Freetown to search for answers about who stole the Beskar armor. Mico Suayan’s cover features Djin Djarin and Grogu alongside Cobb Vanth - which will be available as a standard cover and a virgin variant. Rickie Yagawa’s variant (1:100 as a virgin variant) features a starry-eyed Grogu looking up at Mandalorian from his carrier. Eric M. Gist provides a hyper photo-realistic cover starring Vanth. Doctor Aphra’s Just Lucky gets a stunning Pride variant from Paulina Ganucheau. Finally, Ken Lashely’s 1:25 variant features Mando battling against a group of aliens.
The Rodney Barnes and George Jeanty eight-issue comic book will serve as the first comic book appearance of Cobb Vanth - as readers can expect many new faces from season two of The Mandalorian to also pop up in the comic as they did in the series. Readers can pick up Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 #1 now! Don’t forget to preorder the rest of the series from CaptCan Comics!
