Marvel Announces Amazing Spider-Man 300 Facsimile: Pre-Order Now!

One of the most iconic Spider-Man comics is finally getting a facsimile edition, as The Amazing Spider-Man #300 is set to be reprinted by Marvel Comics.
The Amazing Spider-Man #300 by David Michelinie, Todd McFarlane, Bob Sharen, and Rich Parker follows the return of Peter Parker after the events of Secret Wars, with the hero bringing a symbiote suit to Earth after discovering it off Earth. When Spider-Man eventually got rid of the alien suit, it bonded with Eddie Brock, leading to the creation of Venom. Brock was a former Daily Globe journalist fired after a story about the real identity of the villain Sin-Eater turned out to be false. Distraught by his life being turned upside down, Brock was prepared to commit suicide before the Venom symbiote bonded with him and gave him a dark new lease on life.
Venom would instantly become a fan-favorite villain who would evolve into an antihero over time, with his Venom: Lethal Protector series taking a closer look at the man behind the symbiote mask. While many characters would become versions of Venom in the comics since Eddie Brock first sported the mantle in The Amazing Spider-Man #300, he’s without question the most notable person to host the symbiote. Despite his dark past, Brock would save the Marvel Universe in the “King in Black” event, with his son Dylan eventually becoming the new Venom, while Eddie became the King in Black himself. Brock’s popularity has extended well beyond the comics, appearing in multiple animated Spider-Man projects. Venom has starred in two live-action movies in the last few years, including the most recent Venom: Let There Be Carnage, where Tom Hardy portrayed him. Venom’s story will also play a role in the upcoming Spider-Man 2 video game.
The Amazing Spider-Man #300 is one of the pricier issues of the series because of Venom’s first appearance - so it’s great to see that Marvel is printing a facsimile edition, allowing people a chance to read the story without purchasing the original issue (which for those wanting the real thing, be sure to check out CaptCan’s back-issues which are continually updated!).
