Marvel's Daredevil: A Fresh Hell Awaits in New Series

Daredevil isn’t just coming back on the small screen with Daredevil: Born Again, but will see another creative reset in a brand-new series that will tackle the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in September.
Currently, Daredevil is taking his final stand against The Hand in Chip Zdarsky, Marco Checchetto, and Matt Wilson’s run on the classic Marvel character, with Matt Murdock fighting alongside his longtime love, Elektra. Upcoming issues will see Daredevil re-explore the darkest parts of his history in the Marvel Universe, with the character’s death being teased as he may make a trip to Hell. The final issue, Daredevil #14, has teased “the end,” hinting at the possible ending to Matt’s life, love, marriage, or time as Daredevil.
With Daredevil’s series being routinely excellent, taking over for Zdarsky and Checchetto is no easy task. But Marvel Comics is bringing in another superstar creative team with Saladin Ahmed (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) and Aaron Kuder (Action Comics) to take over the reins of Daredevil. Ahmed told Marvel.com he intends to bring a unique take to Matt and Hell’s Kitchen while teasing some mind-blowing additions to the hero’s world.
"I wanted to only take this job on if I felt like I had a new, unique take on Matt and on Hell's Kitchen. And so that's at the center of this… him and his world, but it's the Marvel Universe. What I've really enjoyed in talking with other editors, other offices, is finding ways through these first couple of arcs we have planned to keep this centered on Matt, keep this centered on his people, in his world, but to bring (in a very organic and surprising fun way) some familiar Marvel figures that I think are going to blow people's mind when they pop up on the page!"
Comic legend John Romita Jr., Scott Hanna, and Marcio Menyz are teaming up for an excellent new cover for Daredevil #1, featuring JRJR’s trademark style, showcasing the hero as rain pours on him in Hell’s Kitchen.
While other variant covers haven’t officially been revealed, variants are also expected from legendary Daredevil writer/artist Frank Miller (also available as a 1:100 variant), TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, an Elektra variant from Stanley Artgerm Lau (available as a 1:50 variant, too), a 1:25 variant from Pepe Larraz, a Whilce Portracio variant starring Bullseye, a foil variant from Alexander Lozano, and a blank variant. With Zdarsky, Checchetto, and Wilson’s Daredevil run ending later this year, don’t forget to order the remaining issues on CaptCan Comics to complete the iconic run on the hero. Marvel’s new Daredevil series arrives at CaptCan Comics on September 13th.
