Al Ewing is giving Thor the “Immortal” treatment in a brand new Marvel Comics series set to take the God of Thunder in a bold new direction.
This month, Marvel Comics revealed “Immortal Hulk” writer Al Ewing would take over the reins for Thor in a brand-new ongoing series with artist Matin Coccolo. Following Donny Cates and artist Nick Klein’s run on Thor, which ended abruptly after the writer left the series, leaving an entirely new creative team to finish the run, Thor fans might have somewhat of a sour taste in their mouths. However, with Ewing taking the reigns on Thor, it's the perfect marriage between writer and character and should send the Marvel hero on an exciting new path. Ewing, one of Marvel’s most talented and acclaimed creatives, is known for telling stories exploring the deepest mythos of the Marvel Universe, penning tales examining morality and heroism, and never failing to impress with his work. His long list of titles i ncludes Ultimates, Defenders, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
A preview for “Immortal Hulk” teases the adventures ahead for Thor, as the hero will balance his responsibilities as the King of Asgard while dealing with threats coming to Earth and beyond.

When injustice grips the Earth and ancient powers bring down the sky, he fights for those who cannot - and when the tale is done, we will know what that cost him. This is the story of THE IMMORTAL THOR. PLUS: A bonus page written by Jonathan Hickman - WHO ARE THE G.O.D.S.?

Additionally, Immortal Thor #1 will feature a Miss Minutes cover from superstar Peach Momoko and a variant cover starring Thor connected to the upcoming G.O.D.S. miniseries from Bryan Hitch.
