Marvel's To Reveal New Spider-Man Villain Torment's Origin

The Amazing Spider-Man and Venom are currently crossing over in the Death Spiral storyline, as the serial killer Torment has lived up to his name in his recent bloody introduction. In May, readers will learn about Torment's killer origin and connection with Peter Parker.

In Amazing Spider-Man / Venom: Death Spiral – Body Count #1 by Charles Soule, Kev Walker, and Joe Caramagna, Marvel will showcase the truth behind Torment. The super villain has attacked the lives of Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson, and Eddie Brock, and has made it his mission to take out those closest to them. The "deadliest serial killer since Cletus Kasady" will have his backstory explained in the upcoming one-shot, which will send shockwaves across the Marvel Universe.

Amazing Spider-Man / Venom: Death Spiral – Body Count #1 features main cover art by Cafu, with variants coming from Mark Bagley, Nogi San, and Paulo Siqueira. Additionally, Lucio Parrillo is drawing a Magic: The Gathering variant (also available as a 1:50 virgin variant), a yet-to-be-revealed artist will draw a 1:25 variant, and Iban Coello draws a 1:100 variant.
