The Punisher's first appearance is getting a new facsimile edition reprinting the earliest adventures of the beloved antihero as Marvel Comics is releasing a new version of The Amazing Spider-Man #129!
On October 30, 1973, Frank Castle made his first comic book appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #129 by Gerry Conway, Ross Andru, Frank Giacoia, Dave Hunt, and John Costanza. In the issue, the Jackal hires the Punisher to take down Spider-Man, which leads to a battle between the two characters. Over the next 50 years, the Punisher would become an important Marvel antihero, taking the law into his own hands in his own ongoing adventures while being brought to live-action projects on the big and small screen.
The new fascimile edition of The Amazing Spider-Man #129 features main cover art from Gil Scott and John Romita Sr., showcasing Punisher setting his sights on the heroic web-slinger. Additionally, a new foil variant will be available from Marvel Comics, which has yet-to-be-revealed. Check out the main cover art followed by the text solicit for the issue.
