Rook: Exodus" Ignites a Sci-Fi Saga with Johns & Fabok

Ghost Machine is leading to a new handful of titles being released alongside Image Comics, and one of the most exciting upcoming books is Rook: Exodus from superstar creators Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok, and Brad Anderson.
Geoff Johns is one of the most prolific comic writers, with excellent runs on fan-favorite heroes and villains for DC Comics, such as Aquaman, Green Lantern, and the Justice Society of America. Johns launched Ghost Machine in 2023, bringing several talented creators to join him in the new storytelling initiative. Among them is Jason Fabok, who previously worked with Johns on Justice League and Batman: Three Jokers. Fabok - who visited CaptCan Comics for an exclusive signing with his fellow Canadian Ghost Machine artist Francis Manapul late in January — is teaming up with the writer again alongside Brad Anderson for a new science fiction comic that will please fans of the creative team.
The team behind Batman: Three Jokers is telling a story about a man who left Earth and arrived on Exodus, a terraformed planet where everything was under control by Wardens. However, their power fell into the wrong hands — leading to a mass exodus from the world. Unfortunately, Rook is among those left fighting for survival in hopes of finding escape, leading him into direct conflict with the dangerous actors in Exodus.
Fabok and Anderson’s main cover for the series features the titular hero — and his many weapons — striking a pose with Exodus in the background. Ivan Reis and Danny Miki are working on the standard variant for the issue, which hasn’t yet been revealed. Fabok is also doing a 1:50 incentive variant featuring Rook and the book's supporting cast in action. Fabok also draws a 1:100 incentive variant featuring Rook that gives off heavy Mad Max vibes. Fabok described Rook: Exodus #1 to CaptCan Comics, saying it’s… “a sci-fi action-adventure epic that Geoff Johns, Brad Anderson, and I have been working on since we finished Batman: Three Jokers.” He tells readers, “We are excited to introduce this new series with all its great characters, cool vehicles, strange locations, drama, action and heart. It’s a book that’s been a true labor of love for us and we invite you to come along for the ride!”
