Superior Spider-Man Returns: Stegman & Slott Reunite!

Ryan Stegman and Dan Slott are returning to the world of Superior Spider-Man in a brand-new The Superior Spider-Man Returns one-shot featuring the sinister version of the hero back in action.
The original Superior Spider-Man series ran between 2013 and 2014 with Slott, Stegman, and Edgar Delgado ushering in a new era for the web-slinger. In the storyline, Peter Parker’s dying wish inspired Otto Octavius to take over his body and become the new Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe. While the initial storyline was controversial, as many fans were confused why the longtime villain was replacing Parker, The Superior Spider-Man ended up being a surprise hit for Marvel Comics, with the series receiving critical acclaim and running for 33 issues. In the last month, Marvel has hinted about Superior Spider-Man’s return, and now, readers know Stegman and Slott will tell a new tale in an upcoming one-shot. The issue will see a group of talented artists from Mark Bagley and Humberto Ramos join the storytelling endeavor in a never-been-seen-before Superior Spider-Man adventure.

Ken Lashley and Juan Fernandez team up for the issue’s standard variant featuring the divide between Spider-Man and Otto. Humberto Ramos will draw a yet-to-be-revealed variant, while Giuseppe Camuncoli and Delgado work together for a new 1:25 incentive variant featuring the hero surrounded by spider bots.

The new issue is Slott’s latest Spider-Man title for Marvel Comics, with the longtime Spidey scribe working on the current Spider-Man comic with Mark Bagley and the upcoming Spider-Boy series with Paco Medina. Slott also worked on the recent Spider-Verse titles across the Marvel Comics line. The new one-shot brings the writer and Stegman back to one of their most iconic stories.
