The Last Ronin-verse is set to continue in an all-new one-shot from IDW Publishing that will show the aftermath of the defeat of Oroku Hiroto and the Foot Clan. In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin - Lost Day Special #1, readers will be taken to New York City following its liberation from the sinister ninja organization. However, while things start off better with its citizens finally gaining freedom, new foes will rise in the Foot Clan’s absence, as it will be up to April O’Neil, Casey Jones Jr., and the four new TMNT heroes to stop it.
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, Michelangelo, the last surviving Turtle, took a last stand against the Foot Clain. After watching his brothers and Master Splinter die in the war between good and evil, Mikey transformed into the Last Ronin - hellbent on getting revenge for his fallen family by any means necessary. Ultimately, Michelangelo was successful in stopping the Foot Clan and their leader Oroku Hiroto, but at the cost of his own life. But, the Turtles' legacy continues with Casey Jones Jr., the daughter of April O’Neil, raising her own group of TMNT heroes - as the next iteration of Turtles has been fully introduced in TMNT: The Last Ronin - Lost Years. Uno, Odyn, Moja, and Yi are still growing up and learning, but a new one-shot will feature their first test as the new generation of Turtles.
The 40-page special by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman and writer Tom Waltz, illustrator Ben Bishop, and colorist Luis Antonio Delgado will feature April O’Neil and the new Turtles getting lost during a mission into the city as different threats rise in hopes of replacing the Foot Clan. Check out the full synopsis.
A special one-shot set in the Ronin-verse! After the Last Ronin defeated Oroku Hiroto, Master of the Foot Clan, New York City was free for the first time in more than a decade. But along with the newfound freedom comes a dangerous power vacuum waiting to be filled, and without a common enemy in the Foot Clan, various factions are vying to take control. Longtime resistance leader April O'Neil finds herself and her loved ones-including four small mutant turtles she and her daughter, Casey Marie Jones, are raising and training together-once again caught up in the battle for the soul of the city.
When April takes the young mutant turtles with her on a supply run into the city, they become lost and must find their way back to the sewer lair or risk becoming collateral damage in the newest power struggle overtaking the streets. Old memories mix with new realities as April and her four small charges race to get back home before it's too late.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin - Lost Day Special #1 will feature a standard cover from Bishop, a variant from Eastman, and a third cover from artist Elizabeth Beals. For those looking to watch the continued adventures of the Turtles, where new villains emerge from the rubble of the Foot Clan’s defeat, the one-shot will be a great showcase for the young heroes and what they’ll be up against. The comic directly ties into the current events of TMNT: The Last Ronin - Lost Years miniseries. The oversized issue is available for pre-order now at CaptCan Comics.
