Transformers Fans Rejoice: DWJ's Epic New Skybound Series

Transformers fans are in for quite a treat, as renowned artist and writer Daniel Warren Johnson (with colorist Mike Spicer and letterer Rus Wooton) is penning and drawing a new Transformers series from Skybound Comics.
Robert Kirkman recently revealed the surprise news about Skybound getting the rights to Transformers and G.I. Joe comics. Void Rivals served as the stealth launch of the Energon universe, with Kirkman later revealing new G.I. Joe titles from the likes of Tom Reilly, Joshua Williamson, and Larry Hama. But one of the most exciting announcements was shared when Do A Powerbomb’s Daniel Warren Johnson was tackling the newest Transformers book.
So, what can readers expect from DWJ’s Transformers? Transformers #1 will feature the Autobots and Decepticons crashing on Earth while the war continues between them. The Autobots starring in the book include fan-favorite characters, including Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Cliffjumper, Arcee, and Wheeljack. Meanwhile, the Decepticons starring in the comic will be Starscream, Rumble, Skywarp, Laserbeak, and Soundwave. It’s safe to assume that Megatron will rear his ugly head at some point throughout the comic.
While many covers are still to be revealed, DWJ draws the main cover for Transformers #1 featuring Optimus Prime. Warren Johnson and Spicer will team up for multiple variants, while Invincible artist Ryan Ottley also draws a variant. Incentive covers come from Orlando Arocena (1:10), Cliff Chiang (1:25), Bryan Hitch (1:50), Ian Bertram (1:100), and a 1:100 blank sketch variant.
CaptCan Comics will have all Incentives available for purchase upon release.
