  Porky and Petunia go to Cooley Corners to help Grandpa Gruntly, who is laid up with a broken leg. Grandpa is the town's constable, lamp lighter, dog catcher, and telephone company operator. The three mistake a radio program as a threat on the town's banker, who is holding a "Hard Times" party.

  Cicero finds a way to keep the hot sun from melting ice cream cones.

  Porky hurriedly brings in antiques from an outdoor shelf when he sees Cicero wobbling his way on roller skates.
