Moon Boy watches his protector Devil Dinosaur (a red Tyrannosaurus Rex) defend his valley (called the Valley of Flame) from (Thunder-Horn) (Triceratops). He defeats him by knocking him off a cliff. After the battle, Moon Boy reminisces about first meeting Devil, when Devil was a baby and the sole survivor of his family being massacred by the Killer Folk (brown furred cavemen). Fires from a nearby volcano had turned Devil's skin red, and Moon Boy nursed the wounded Devil back to health with the two becoming brothers. Meanwhile the Killer-Folk have a new leader and plan on destroying Devil.
