  Dr. Mills tests his super-intelligence serum on a gorilla who then escapes and uses his super-intelligence to go on a crime spree in the guise of a human.

  The super-intelligent mutated King Gorilla proclaims himself the sole sovereign of Earth, and sends gorilla ambassadors to the different countries "to accept control of [their] governments". Dr. Mills surrenders himself to the gorilla ambassadors, in the hope of stopping King Gorilla's conquests and returning him to normal gorilla intelligence.

  Danny's father tells him a tale of being a member of the Watchdogs of the Universe, a group that saves planets from catastrophes but never takes credit for their actions.

  Jul Van, a peace-loving alien from Pluto, arrives on Earth ahead of a Plutonian invasion force to construct a machine that will repel the invaders. The machine, which can only be triggered by a particular sound that Jul Van refuses to disclose, passes its preliminary tests. Then, Jul Van is found dead, leaving the Earthmen to frantically try to identify the key-sound that will activate the machine. With time running out, scientist Ralph Baxter puts a desperate plan into action.
