Tom arrives just after the Rattler's men have blown up the jail and its new sheriff. Tom takes the job as sheriff to avenge his friend.

  The gang dresses Tom in one of their costumes and leaves him in a barn where he is almost shot by a posse. He escapes and leads the posse to the hideout, where they capture the gang. The Rattler escapes, but lures Tom into a trap where he finds out the villain's surprising civilian identity.
