  • Big game hunter Ken Jorgens finds the cub of a were-tigress in Bengal and brings it back home to the US. He raises the animal, experiences its transformation into human form - and falls in love with "Tigra". Her struggle with her animal instincts poses problems though.
  • "A tale of unbelievable mystery occurred in central Europe at the close of the nineteenth century. A prince [...] viewed the funeral procession of a band of gypsies..." And has nothing better to do than to rob the deceased of her cursed, but magic mirror. Meant as a gift for his wife, the mirror announces the death of the prince's wife.
  • Two-bit magician Marvello travels to India to find new attractions. He assaults three fakirs and steals their magic items. When performing these on stage, Marvello runs into unexpected difficulties and gets lost in time.
  • "The gargoyles and weird statues that glower from the heights of the famed cathedral in Coblenz, Germany, are known throughout the world for their fine workmanship..." A thief, robbing and killing stone mason Horner, is crushed by a stone gargoyle hurtling from the top of the roof.
  • Ivan Buloff, a Russian commissar in occupied Hungary, has to learn the truth about "all those capitalist lies about vampires". In fighting them he finds the meaning in the proverb "history flows forward on rivers of blood".
  • An African voodoo mask can grow and transform itself into a treasure-filled temple. When Randy Fenshaw kills the mask's proprietor, he gets trapped inside the mask and is imprisoned for all eternity.
