As Michael is being coronated as Emperor, The Shenzhou deploys a modified version of Alexander's bio-weapon, killing Michael and all humans in San Francisco. Airiam, L'Rell, and Kol are the sole survivors, and Airiam takes over as the new Emperor of the Terran Empire.
