Jughead arrives and uses his "magic pin that makes him irresistible to women" to save Archie from Cheryl. Cheryl and Jughead walk off arm in arm.

  Veronica tries a peek-a-boo hairstyle. Archie likes it, so Betty does the same. The fad sweeps the school, much to Mr. Weatherbee's displeasure.

  Betty and Veronica get caught up in the fad for "Slim Jims," very skinny pants.
• 22 Little Archie Script: Bob Bolling +
  Betty and Ronnie compete for Little Archie's affections by cooking for him.
• 23 The Rainmaker Pencils: George Frese +
  Archie and Jughead are afraid that Betty intends to shoot them, because she's carrying her father's shotgun home from the repair shop. Betty, meanwhile, schemes to make it rain so Archie doesn't have to paint his father's house and can go on a date with her. And Fred merely wants to take a bath in peace.
• 24 Rice and Shine Script: George Frese +
  When Betty and Veronica overhear Archie and Jughead discussing how girls can't cook anymore, the girls invite them over for a dinner of chop suey to prove them wrong.
• 25 Bigger and Bitter Script: Bill Vigoda +
  Betty is going to give Archie a professional photo of herself for his birthday. Veronica finds out and goes to the same photographer and has a much larger photo made of herself. The sympathetic photographer finds a way for Betty to come out ahead.

  Betty pretends to not be interested in Archie, which makes Veronica no longer interested in him either.
